Silent Spring
2026
I find myself at this strange moment, running back into the arms of Mother Nature- our first, last and only home.
In this work I am bringing together my original photography with layers of collected ephemera into photomontage and unfixed collages then rephotographing the assemblage.
Reality is arbitrary at this point in time when so much of the "real world" is artificial, and dark hidden layers of the past are surfacing from the depths to be revealed in the light.
The use of collage reflects this surreal time out of time where past and future can exist in the layers of now. We are the most disconnected from ourselves as part of nature than ever before, yet Nature is the center of what grounds us and keeps us alive; the only real thing we can believe in.
