I'm Linda Plaisted, a classically-trained American painter, photographer and mixed media artist who has exhibited my work in galleries and museums throughout North America. I've been a pioneer in contemporary photographic illustration and photomontage. In 2000, I founded Many Muses Studio in the Washington, DC area to establish a place to explore the marriage of many media.
My work is held in private collections worldwide and the corporate collections of such companies as Mastercard, McGraw- Hill, CVS/Caremark, Standard & Poor's, Ritz-Carlton Hotels and Marc Jacobs, Inc. You may have seen my images on book covers, in The Acacia Catalog or web sites such as Daily Candy, Design*Sponge, Apartment Therapy, Viewville, Velocity Art & Design & many more.
Each piece of artwork I create is layered by hand with images I've captured in my photographs, drawings, paintings and collected ephemera to create collage pieces with subtle depth and detail. My unique ability to conjure bittersweet emotion from the simplest of compositions is my trademark narrative style.
